Please forgive these pics as I have no idea what I am doing, lol! Here are a couple pics I just took with the T2i and 50mm lens:

Nice pics! Is the 50mm a macro lens? I didn't think it shot pics in 1:1, but the pic of the clam looks like it was shot pretty close

The 50mm is not a macro lens. It's actually the cheapest lens Canon makes!

not too shabby man. keep practicing. you'll get the hang of it. glad to see another T2i user. ;)

Well the pics still look great. It seems like it has a relatively short focal distance based on your shots, unless they're being cropped way down. Are you planning on grabbing a macro lens? I use the Canon 60mm macro lens and I'm happy with it. The Tamron 90mm macro lens is supposed to be pretty good for the price as well. If you look on B&H, sometimes they have used lenses for sale.

Excited for your pics. Are you running an mp60 on your cube w/shallow sand bed?

Thanks guys. Yes, I plan on buying a macro lens within a month or so. I figure I should get some practice out of the kit lens and 50mm "nifty fifty" lens first before graduating to the major leagues. The pics were not cropped or redone in any way. LOL, I am such a noob when it comes to cameras!

Yes, I am running one mp60 on the tank. I get some sand movement but it only affects one side.
