Put a green mushroom in my aquarium about 2 weeks ago. A ridactus? Or something another with the neon green hairs....today he appears dead.... 2 days ago he fell of his rock and landed on an acan frag.... could the acan have killed him?

Most likely not, you have a newer setup? I have the green mushrooms also. A few fell and then replanted themselves in other parts of the tank. The green mushrooms have been in my tank for over a year now and most of the time they look great and sometimes the look like they are going to die off. I hope this is what is happening with yours.

Me too. The tanks over a year old. I have ted and green shrooms doing just fine, zenia leathers an acan frogspawn some zoos and a bta all looking as health as can be but this hair shroom looks in real terrible shape if he isnt dead. Only thing i could thinkwas that the acan stung him. I presume he spent a few hours sitting on top of the acan

Sometimes, there are things we just can't keep. I rock at everything else but when it comes to acans and shrooms, my habitat just ain't for them.

I would agree on the shrooms but i have 2 that have been in there 6 months or so healthy looking...havent multiplied yet tho

Nitrates are less than 10. Calc is 410, 0 amonia and nitrite. Ph is 8.3 alk is just shy of 10....however phosphates were up to .5 a week ago ive gotten them down to .3 with water changes and phosban. And still working on em. No other signs of distress in tank. Temp also is 75f salonity is 1.024

If anyone would know @twilliard will help you out. You could try to direct feed it with a plastic pipette. I have done that also with the shrooms and a couple of corals and they are coming back

The mushroom may curl up into a little ball in an attempt to heal itself.
During this process it may expel it's zooanthelle and turn that hazy white color.
When it feels it's healed up then it should open.
It will take time to regain it's zooanthelle

I have had blue shrooms for 20 years. Mostly in a fowler. They don't care much about parameters. They will eat pellets or other food.
Now, my green redactus (sp) has split twice since ending up in a BC29. Put lots of flow on them and they split
