Hello, my name is skye. And I’m just going to thank everyone right now for any help I receive (:

Anyway, I would love to set up a nano/pico tank that is super simple. I have always loved the look of super simplicity In nanos and larger aquariums alike. I found a video on you tube that inspired me to start a saltwater tank. Please enlighten me on the things that I would need in order to complete this. I’d brobrably look into getting something like an ADA 40c which is a cube with a rock and a bunch of swaying anemones or something on it along with two clowns and maybe a shrimp? Again I don’t even know how to mix the saltwater and what not. Here’s a photo of how I would like the tank to look like, roughly.

Please help with the equipment and what not. Thanks so much guys.

Ps: This is my first actual post (:

Hi these are euphyllia or hammer coral. I don't think they are anemones. I do think they are easier than an anemone in a nano tank. I would get an all in one like fluvo evo or innovative marines. My clowns routinely host my euphillias anyway.

oops my bad, they look so pretty. So would this be a good set of equipment for this coral along with this light and enough space for two clowns? Anything else I would need? Protein skimmer, ato system, dosing, wave maker, anything else?

Here is my nano 20 gal lit with 1a80 no skimmer just weekly waterchanges no ato just top off manually daily one circ pump and rubble in the back for added bio

Everyone here will be able to walk you through the process but it’s a learning curve so you have to mentally prepare yourself for anything my first set up I blew 500 and lost it all just take your time and be patient

May I ask, I read some comments that people had extremely slow growth with corals with the a80 on a nuvo 10 close to a 1 ft cube. Yours is much larger in regards to dimensions, have you had good growth? Do you have hard to keep corals? I literally have no clue about this stuff. It seems as if the actual water is much more complicated than fresh water but I have to dose 3-4 times a week and have co2 running along with high lighting to get the results I need. With feeding I have not even seen the “need” for dosing or is it very minimal. For anyone who has experience are hammer head corals hard to keep alive, do they need special requirements, would the a80 be fine for them? Do I need to dose the water, and what is alkalinity? Thanks for the help again

Sorry for you loss, hope it’s just like a walk in the park lol. I am in no rush at all. I bought an ADA 120-P still haven’t been able to set that up, so I bought an ADa 60-P, it has been tool for aquarium withdrawals since then. I am planning to set this tank up after my 120-P estimating next fall. Should give me plenty of time. Thanks for the help, skyw

My second tank, I got from a local reefer who was upgrading at a fraction of the cost.
