First Reef Tank: 15 gallon column

Well. Lots of changes but decided to leave it alone for now. Added sand and a few macros. Got rid of the ridiculous RFG set up. The flow is better with the stock nozzle on the lowest setting than it was with that thing on the highest one.

The algae bottomed out nitrates. Started daily testing of nitrates/phosphates and dosing neonitro/neophos as needed.

Red macros are the only ones with new growth. The others appear to be dying back. At least the stomatellas are happy.

Nice build ! I love macros and don’t mind them in my DT , even a bit of caulerpa. This would be a perfect home for brittle starfish if you wanted to go that route some are bright red and pretty

Since adding the fish I no longer have low nitrate problems. But I'm now starting to get green hair algae growing all over the macros. I will probably end up removing most of the blue hypnea since the hair algae gets completely tangled in it.

( ignore the dirty glass it's superglue on the outside )

The red gracilaria on the top rock have also started to turn white and die but overall the algae is still growing some.

There is a Kenya tree coral now. It seems upset but this is the first day in the new tank.
