First Reef Tank! (Philly Suburbs)

I recently started my first aquarium/reef tank. I previously had a koi pond that I built, however, I moved to Pennsylvania to finish school and did not want to go through the process of digging another pond. I also thought setting up a fish tank may be a cost-efficient alternative (lol).
My tank is a 55 gallon corner, with a 20 gallon sump/refugium, Reef Octopus Skimmer, Kessil Ap700, x2 Hydro 825's, Bubble Magnus dosing pump, 60 lbs of live sand, 60 lbs? of live rock and a wide array of reef inhabitants!

So far I've had success which I attribute to consistency, testing, and making informed decisions. I can't say that I've been as patient as most people recommend with their reef tank but all parameters have been stable and great growth so far! Eventually looking to create a build thread!

Thanks,
Terry!
Welcome to R2R and reefing Terry. Sounds like you know what you’re doing but lots of knowledgable and helpful people here who will support and advise you when needed.

Lol did you happen to experience that wind storm about a week ago? I was outside moving plants into cover and heard our neighborhood transformer explode. I immediately hopped into my truck and bought the last generator at Lowes. The whole house was pitch black besides the blue light emitting from the fish tank ;Joyful, eventually, I hooked up the fridge and router lol

nicely done! That storm was crazy... we had a tornado warning. I think we live in an area with a great grid. Despite our lines being above ground, we’ve lost power OnlyA few times over the last 6 years. Longest one lasted 2 hours.

Welcome to the group. Born in phily, first words were Pat‘s King of Steaks :) . Moved a lot though, in NC now. Anyway, tank looks great. Keep us updated.
