Hi

This is my first post here, but I have been a lurker for some time.

I am in the process of obtaining my first reef tank after keeping fish for more than 15 years.

This will either be a Waterbox 220.6 or a Cade Pro Reef 2 1800

I know there are some threads on this already, but does anyone have experience with the Cade? Or would they recommend the Waterbox instead.

I am quite a fan due to the metal cabinet and gravity fed ato, but the only thing that is giving me pause is that I won't be able to put an mp 40s in the back.

I also wanted to ask what peoples experiences are of the Reef Octopus vs the Nyos Quantum?

I have read that many people have had issues with the Nyos lid jamming and hence I have started drifting towards the Reef Octopus.

Lastly, I am still quiet double minded on the lights. I intend for this to be a mixed reef tank, but am quite patient re the coral. I would like to start introducing some SPS after a year or so. Will it be worth it two get 3 Radion XR30 pros now? While I may not need them initially, my thinking is I may as well get them now, rather than getting a lesser light which I may need to upgrade later?

As a finalise my order I will definitely be posting more.

Thanks from Australia

We have the Waterbox 220.6 and absolutely love it. We didn't go with the Nyos skimmer because of cost. Decided to go with Skimz SM167 and absolutely love it. It's a beast. We went with the AI Hydra 32's that come with the Waterbox 220.6 reef pro and couldn't be happier. We've had great coral growth and we love the look (we've been using AI Signature Saxby from day 1 and haven't messed with it). Good luck with your purchase!

PS : Where in Australia do you live? We have some friends in Adelaide and are hoping to visit them after all this crazy Covid stuff is behind us.
