I tested all of my levels yesterday and everything was perfect...I mean perfect... Which makes me wonder why i have a out break of hair algae, albeit a small outbreak, but still. Any ideas? I only feed once a day and not a lot. I am running about 11 hours of total lighting, about 8 hours of white and blues are always on. Too much light maybe?

I think GHA is common when stuff starts seeping out of your rocks. Just part of the cycle for most people. Scrape it off with a toothbrush and it'll eventually go away on its own.

I really like how you incorporated a book shelf into your light fixture.

Thanks. That is how i hung the light for the biocube too. I have 15 foot ceilings so i had to figure something out.

Well today is not a good day for my tank. What I thought was some GHA\RHA (cannot tell the color. I am colorblind) is actually Cyanobactreia. Being a noob-reefer sucks and hindsight, crushed coral was a bad idea for a substrate. I am treating it now with the Chemiclean then i get to pull out all of the crushed coral and replace it with reef sand as i should have done in the first place... oh well live and learn i suppose.

nice..can I suggest that the rock is moved away from the glass. You won't be able to keep it clean if there is no gap. I learnt that the hard way.

It took 2 treatments and 3 or 4 water changes, but the cyano is gone finally. I moved my fish and a few corals back to see how they do and it looks like I can put them all back in.
