First Salt water tank Help

I'm currently going to start building my own salt water tank. I'm going with a 40 g Breeder. What sump size should I go with I'm also building that my self. Any help thanks In advanced

It all depends on the size of were the sump will be located. In essences you could have a 100 gal sump with a 40 gal breeder for a 100 gallon system To get some good feed back give us some more details.

It will be in my stand below the main tank...Nothing crazy just possibly a refegium protein skimmer.
