Decided that the interest of saltwater creatures, and the immense beauty that they have with their colors and personalities, was well worth the cost and work to maintain them. I've been keeping freshwater fish for 4-5 years now and had an old ten gallon tank i wanted to set up as a nano (possibly reef, other wise just fowlr) tank. Now, I know that starting small is not the greatest idea but money doesnt grow on trees and tanks, as we all know, are expensive; so, the work of making sure it doesnt fluxuate is not too much of a bother.
Anyway, enough about the background lets get to the tank, as stated in the title is been operating for 20 days, about 15 of those days with live rock in it which ive addded more to periodically. The sand is live sand; which is unfortunately, sugar fine sand (blows around). I recently put a fairly interesting rock I had lying around ino the tank to see if i could seed it, also added is a 1 1/2" pvc pipe for the more shy inhabitants.
As for equipment, i have a penguin biowheel 100 hang on back filter, an Aqueon circulation pump 500, and an Aqueon single tube strip light. i have a sump the i created my self with an over flow made of pvc also diy, unfortunately the sump has not been fully set up due to precise improvements that need to be made to make sure that over flow cannot happen on either tank. However, I already puchased the equipment for when the aquarium is fully set up which include: an Aquaticlife mini skimmer 115 a Petco power head being used as a pump back up to the main aquarium and a heater which i can not recall the brand of.
Now you know whats going on and how my tank will be running so.... how about some photos of whats happened in 20 days::

This is the final attempt the top rock looks out of place and I will be relocating it elsewhere soon, this is around day 17
This picture is of some algae that I don't know if I should get rid of or not. also of some neat little start fish that hitchhiked in and became my first multicelled inhabitants!
This photo is to show this odd milky white tenticled creature I found today there are 2 in the tank and they don't seem to like a lot of light but that's just from 2 days of observation so if you all could help me find out what it is that would be appreciated, also its retracted as of now but a photo of it fully emerged will be posted as soon as possible
Finally a better photo of the 2 starfish, as you can see one is missing some arms but has been moving around so hopefully he makes it
