First saltwater aquarium- build thread

Ok thanks a lot for the help. So a HOB filter and an air stone will be enough for the qt?
Yup absolutely.

Did you cycle the QT or are you just using water from the display?

It’s cycled for about 3 weeks and I used fritz turbo start when I added the firefish. I have an ammonia alert badge and I’ve been testing ammonia as well and it seems good

Added this pair of orange storms yesterday, they don’t want to eat flakes, any suggestions on what to try for them?

Nice fish!

If they came from an lfs, you could ask what they were eating before you got them.
Frozen mysis is the standard answer. If they turn their nose up at that, then you're in live blackworm territory.. lol.
You can also try soaking your flake in tank water for a minute and then pouring it in. My fish like flakes as a treat, but most don't care to eat from the surface.

Also could try soaking food in selcon. Chances are they'll get hungry and eat.

Thanks! I picked up some frozen brine last night and they both eat a little of that, not much but better than nothing. I’ll try some mysis today and see how they like it

I have had great luck with Spectrum pellets. I have 4 clowns and they eat that with no problems. Its a sinking pellet and comes in different sizes.

You can also soak the pellets in garlic oil which helps finicky fish eat. Clowns usually are not difficult to get to eat.
