First saltwater tank, 40b reef build.

Going to try and bring back my tank thread from the grave. I've been through some major ups and downs with my tank with algae and fish losses. Micron disappeared at some point after going in the display, haven't seen him for several weeks. My yellow assessor died quite a while ago from a swim bladder malfunction of some sort I think and Blue my black combtooth blenny died as I came back from a trip back in July. I have heavily considered taking it all down and giving up but I just couldn't bring myself to do so. So instead I took down my frag tank so I could focus all my efforts on the display and I'm slowly getting the commitment I need to get the algae under control. I decided that the tank was too lonely and I wanted to renew my interest with some newcomers. So I had gotten Salt a new partner from the Reef a Palooza last year, a black lightning ocellaris who's name is Espresso. She doesn't seem to like him as much as Pepper but they are getting better. This year I got a starry blenny a couple months ago to replace Blue. He's very shy and doesn't have as much personality as Blue but he's cute enough. The newest additions are from a week and a half ago, a yellow spotted scorpionfish and a geometric pygmy hawkfish. These two have definitely given me a run for my money as they have refused absolutely everything I threw at them. Mysis, brine, plankton, krill, slivers of clam, nada. I finally got some live ghost shrimp today and the scorpion gobbled down two right away, success! Oh that felt so good to see that. The hawkfish isn't eating yet but hopefully I will have a breakthrough with him also. I don't have any FTS because my tank has been in sad shape but once that gets under control I will have some. I'm super proud of my trumpet coral though because it has grown so much and is the only coral I still have from the very start. I'll get a picture of that one later next week. For now I just have some fuzzy pics of the scorpion and hawkfish but I can't load them for some reason on my phone so I will do it later on my laptop.
