I just set up my first saltwater tank yesterday and I thought I would join this forum to learn more about reef tanks. I've been doing a lot research lately, so I know some stuff, except there is still a lot of stuff I have questions about and I'm sure there is still tons more to learn. The tank I set up is 10 gallon tank. I got every I need for the tank except for the light and power head. Here are a couple of pictures of the tank

Not trying to diss on you but you should've gone bigger the bigger the tank the easier for beginners because changes in tank chemistry don't effect the whole tank in 5 minutes

Agree with bluedevil38......but I started my adventure with 6 gallons and 3 years ago and am now at 50ish gallons....... so there is room for growing! :-)

Cool tank dude, tho just beware like bluedevils said, it is tougher with a smaller tank.

I was or still might go with a 29/30 gallon tank still, I just haven't found a decent tank in my budget yet or close enough to where I stay. There is a 29 gallon tank I've been looking at except haven't been able to find a ride to go check it out yet. Until I get a bigger tank, this is gona have to work, I'm just gona take it slow and see how things go. I still have to cure live/base rock and cycle the tank so I got plenty of time to change things if I need or want.

The 10g is fine, you'll just need to keep an eye on the water parameters, and be ready to do some water changes is it goes south. No worries, there are plenty of nano tanks out there that are starters.

You gotta start somewhere :) I started with a 9 gallon Biube a few years ago. I still have it and will eventually set it back up for dwarf seahorses (if I ever find them for sale.. Lol).

I agree with feeding madness. It's textbook to say that small tanks are bad or beginners so it's like a no no. I say screw that. All it means is that you have to stay on top of it more. What's wrong with that? Were hobbyists! That's what we should want to do! I see it as you're going to learn very fast. So once you get that bigger tank it'll just be cake. Pimp it out. Welcome to the reef! And Nice rocks btw.

Awsum, ty. I might be upgrading to a 29 - 30 gallon down the road with a sump and refugium. For now, I'm just gona seen how things go. So far the tank is doing great.
