Not sure if anyone has heard of this program, but sounds interesting...
I do wonder about the effect of electro-currents on other creatures like fish, sharks, etc... I'd buy that if successful, it may increase fish habitats, moreso than populations.

i heard of similar projects a few years ago. not sure what negative impacts it would have on an existing ecosystem, but it may be a good way to restore corals in depleted areas.

I saw one of these in Thailand on Koh Tao. It was in a remote area of the island. I rented snorkel gear in town and took the moped. I snorkled around it freely for awhile. It was a hundred feet out in 12 feet of water. It had only acros on it and was 5-10% full. It was definitely more full than the area around it but I bet that people transplanted frags on it. It didn't look spectacular but more of an eyesore, like random metal fence garbage. I heard that it was there and thats why I made the trip. I was a lil disappointed. I don't remember how long it had been up and running but this was 2007 so I'm guessing for a few years. It would be nice to see that one again. My bad no pics lol

i saw a documentery on tv about this, it was really interesting. they had a bunch or huge frag racks in the ocean and were growing corals and then placing them in different spots on the reefs, kind of like seeding the reef i guess

At the rate corals are being harvested, chopped, and sold, they need to do something like this everywhere. Every little bit helps, especially considering how long reefs have been here and how quickly they are vanishing
