First tank 65 gallon, 27 gallon sump

Hey guys this is my first tank setting up for saltwater, I got a free tank from my neighbor since he didn't have the space for it he passed it forward. So i have a 65 gallon on a metal stand which I'm not to much liking I'm gonna look for a better stand down the road. i have around 75-80 pounds of dry rock in it and around 60 pounds of sand. I have a hang on back overflow to the sump, I'm thinking of drilling out the bottom and putting a pvc to the sump for backup, and to be able to run the return pump at 100% right now its turned down to around 75-80% the power. Its a eheim i got for free on craiglist. day 7 of the tank being up and just fixed a salinity problem earlier today.

That rock looks great. Nice grab. I would stick with this tank to make sure you enjoy the hobby and maybe in a few months look for a drilled tank you can upgrade to.

so far so good i am having a bacteria bloom and waiting for the cloud to go away, but my fish are doing good and 2 shrimp, got around 6 turbo snails and 15-20 blue hermit crabs they have done amazing job on the algae.
