you need way more rock, or a ton of marine pure blocks in ur sump. i think its like 1- 1.5lbs of rock per gallon
i would add it asap

Totally agree atleast 1 pound of live rock per gallon of water!!!! It's where a lot of your beneficial bacteria will grow and help filter your tank!

ya more rocks, keep the light off during the cycle and probably keep the skimmer off too

Thank you all i appreciate it.i read about 1 pound per gallon thats why i was curious as to why my lfs recommend only by one rock.i just order 50lbs of pukani cured live rock should be here Thursday

Congrats.... patience is key and kills us all.... I'm still new to the hobby but any questions just ask.... this hobby is so oooo fun!

You can add cured rock later, but you would need to add a lot of rock later so it's best to do it now in the beginning of the tank. Will help the tank become more stable from the start.

I'd also toss that background and exchange it for an all black one

I have no clue why the LFS gave you that advice. Very weird. I'm glad you ordered more rock. Good luck and ask a lot of questions here!!

Take your time arranging the rock. You don't want to be like me and scratch your tank rearranging it later.
