Having been in freshwater for a while and taking a break from the hobby, I am thinking about setting up a 450 gallon from Planet Aquariums mixed reef. Can anyone tell me if you like the PA tanks? How about things that surprised you with a 450 gallon tank over smaller tanks? I am trying to figure out what I have not thought of, before I pull the trigger.

I have 3 tanks from them. They make awesome tanks! You’ll love the 450 it’s a heavy heavy beast!

Hey thanks! I see that you are in my area (Tahlequah). If you have any recommendations of LFS, I’d sure appreciate it. If I get the 450, I’ll spend a fortune stocking the thing.

I sold a 300 from them awhile back. Great tanks imo. If I decide to go bigger again I'd go back with them. I had the standard issue with center overflows. You get excellent quality for the price.

The closest to you would either be Coral Guys in Tulsa or Worlds Under Water in Fayetteville. Both are Planet Aquarium dealers as well.

To those of you that have PA tanks, anyone have the Tideline external overflow? I've read a couple bad reports on here about them and curious to see if anyone has had positive experiences with them. Not sure if it's a widespread problem with leaking and being noisy or outlier posts. I'm also looking at PA in the 180-220 range.

From what I understand is the external one are very noisy never heard of a leak issue though.
