Not really new to reefing, but my wonderful wife bought me a Red SEA Reefer 250 for Christmas (Yes, I know I don't deserve her). I have a few questions, if you would be so kind.

First, my current 30 gallon has a already problem (bubble algae & Dinos) which is on the decline, but I plan on buying new rock and sand. My issue is, how do I transfer my corals that may have some algae on the bottom of their skeletons without introducing algae to the new tank? Scrub with h202? Also, should I buy dry rock? Problem is that I can't really have 2 tanks running side by side for 6 months.

I have lighting (2 Hydra 26's HD), but I would love some recommendations on return pumps, skimmers, and dosing pumps.

Lastly, will one MP40 be enough? I haven't used one before.

Any advice pertaining to the above or in general is greatly appreciated.

Probably have to take corals out use some dips and scrub what u can off with tooth brush on dead areas or rocks parts were coral are I would also use a turkey baste to try to blast the stuff off,as far as dry rock goes from what I understand is some leach phosphates for quite a while during curing, maybe u could get a container and keep the rock in it to cycle, that's what I use is a Rubbermaid sits with heater and powerhead in it,I've used hydrogen peroxide and it's helped with algae on corals.1 mp 40 I don't think is enough.everyone likes lots of flow in tanks so my guess would be 2 at least that is a bigger tank. I personally like reef octupus skimmers, but everyone has there own taste.u should probably decide if u want internal or external skimmer.as far as return pumps there are so many to choose from .but I believe you will want something with a turnover rate of 10 times the aquarium amount.dosing pumps I would not be cheap about do to the fact if they fail u risk losing a lot.good luck and that redsea tank looks sweet!
