This is my 21g Aquatop aquarium. I have 1/2 live, 1/2 dry rock to start. I plan on rearranging the rock shortly. I'm very new at this and really don't know what all I can do to/with this tank to make it better. It has a protein skimmer in back and multi stage filtration (w/ ceramic rings). There was no manual with this and I cannot find anyone here, YouTube or google who has the same tank. Hope all is well! (I can't believe how much money I've spent already and I really don't care.. Enjoying myself so far!)

Nice start! What do you plan on keeping? Also from the first pic it looks like you have some sort of overhang style to your aqua scape (on the left side), I dig.

Looking forward to your progress.

I really don't know at this point. I have been kinda browsing everyone else's tanks to see what they like to do. Since I'm new to this, I'd like to start with simple hardy fish and corals.

Very cool you should be good for lighting with what you have in mind for starting corals. Might want to try some Mushrooms and zoas. Just go slow with adding stuff and make sure your tank is finished cycling first.

No, it was not established when I purchased it. From what I read, most people start with a damsel or crab so I'll probably go that route. I've looked at mushroom corals and finger corals. For fish I was told that the clown fish and Gobys are generally good (but it seams everyone I ask has a different opinion :P )

Yes both are very hardy. Just don't get anything that will out grow your tank in a couple months and you will be fine. Research is the key to this hobby. You will find that everyone has an opinion and usually they are never the same. Lol

Can anyone explain the purpose of the closed ended tube that comes out next to the protein skimmer collection cup. You can see it in the picture I posted earlier.
