First "Tester" Acro!

Came home from the LFS with this guy today. I have a green birdsnest and purple stylo that have been doing great for a month or two so i wanted to try an acro out! Unfortunately, in my small tank my lps are not doing soo great because of the amount of flow i have for the sps. Is is really necessary to bombard the sps? Im thinking my poor hammer coral wont last too much longer. I hate watching it die but i dont think it will last in my tank... Anyways, i wanted to see if anybody knew what this acro is and can provide any tips!

Looks similar to miyagi tort. Can grow in lower light or higher light. Good hardy acro.

Mines not doing soo good ever since i turned up the flow to accomidate the sps. Ive slowly been inching it around the lowest flow area of the tank. It might pull through but i doubt it...

Hey guys, i dose esv two part twice dialy, morning and night. Im adding about 0.7-0.8 dKH each time i dose. Is that too much of a swing for acros? Im planning on getting a doser soon but have been holding off...

That’s thing about mixed reef tanks that make it challenging.. put the sps high and the lps low in low flow and direct your high flow towards the top third of the tank.. I have both sps and lps, and it works..

I’d say that’s a bit high to be dosing at a time. You want to dose often, less at a time. Ideally, you would figure out the usage rate and then use a dosing pump to dose that amount over a 24hr period.

Thanks. Im working on getting a dosing pump. For the time being i will break my daily dose up over 3 times a day rather than twice. Appriciate the feedback.
