drip acclimate ,would def give fw dip if not qt before adding to display

What type of fish?
Research FW if you go the route. I think it is too stressful post transport.

Congrats on your new fish. DD sends an acclimation guide I think.

:)

The most important difference is to turn off all lights before opening the box. They have been kept in the dark for a while and don't want to stress them out by blinding them with light and stressing them out anymore.

Good tip. My last fish from them the lower half of the bag if not most of it was blacked out. Should be the case but if not the light trick is a great tip!

I'm about 50/50 with blacked out bags from them. Learned it from Mr.Saltwater. I'm beginning to prefer him over BRS. He seems to teach more instead of selling.

Call them and find out what salinity they are shipping fish at.
I float for 20 mins and then empty contents into CLEAN pail/bucket. I then add a cup of tank water every 15 mins 6 times.
Thereafter, a quick freshwater bath to eliminate chance of flukes, then I use same cup and trap fish and introduce to show tank or quarantine tank

Thanks everyone! Excellent tips! I am not sure which fish yet. My LFS by me aren't getting in a great selection. I wanted to add a large Angel. I heard good things about DD. Are there any other good online suppliers I should be checking out? I only want to buy from someone who ships in salinity around 1.025 if that is possible. Thanks in advance everyone!

NY aquatics
Salgado aquatics

I heard good things from my local reefers about TSM Aquatics.
Fortunately for me, its driving distance.

Thanks!!!! I appreciate all the help! I have never bought a fish online, so this is new to me! LOL! I read through info about quick acclimation because of the shipping bag water.....so it's better not to drip correct?
Dripping does not always get the bag and tank water equalized effective enough

It changes tank to tank so best to call them. Ive heard 1.016 and 1.022. It varies.

Salgado aquatics
I never purchased from these guys but both are close to me about 1-2hr drive. When I was starting my stocking list I called Salgado and the person who picked up rubbed me the wrong way.

I recently purchased 5 anthais from TSM aquatics which has a stellar QT process and ships at 35ppt. Great communication, well priced, fish were fat and active.

I also purchased a magnificent foxface from divers den.

I will only purchase from these 2 from now on.

As for my tips;
1.) Choose the company that’s closest to you. I feel like TSM is the better choice for me since they are in New Jersey and I am in Connecticut. Easier transportation on the livestock.
2.) low light during acclimation and no light for 4hrs in the tank
3.) you want to get the fish transitioned into new water as quick as possible. To avoid ammonia burn. A slow drip isn’t the right acclimation strategy for a fish that’s been in a bag for 48hrs or longer..

If it’s the right temp, and close to matching salinity do the cup transfer method like @vetteguy53081 was mentioning

Also TSM and divers den are both pre quarantined and medicated.

Both ship at 35ppt.
Divers den sent an email the night before arrival with acclimation guide, tank parameters, and what the fish is eating during QT
