Hello everyone, I purchased a clam about a week ago and its mouth is open more then its shut. mantel looks amazing no retraction, and it reacts well to light. Looks happy to me but I've heard alot of stories and I just want to know that my little guy is doing well. I'd say it's about 7 or 8 inches long and in a moderate flow spot with good light exposure. I'm running a hydra 32 hd. Thanks for the help!

So pretty

I wouldn't worry about incurrent siphon, looks happy to me. Mantle looks great, keep an eye out for new shell in the upper margin under the mantle.
Thanks! That's what I was thing too just needed to make sure it was in good health.

As long as you have a good light and your stable your fine. I read that you should try to get one 3inches or bigger because they are more dependent on lighting versus reading from the water column. Like I said do alittle research on the kind of clams your looking and their requirements and I would say go for it! You can do it!

I hope you document your progress. I'll be learning from you if you don't mind.
