I am excited for the sale! So do you buy multiple times to be sure you get what you want and they combine them all for shipping? I'm a bit confused how it works. Thanks for any advice!

Not sure about which specific sale you are referring to, but in general my tips are:

Check the sale rules!!!

Make an account on the website so you don't get prompted to sign up with every purchase, use PayPal or save credit card info on the site to speed up purchases, buy the individual items you want without shipping/"pick up" and pay for shipping at the end (or at the beginning) (make sure that is OK with the seller, just ask the question in the thread).

Oh, and just because it's in your cart does not mean it's yours. I only buy one coral at a time as taking the time to put multiple things in your cart will give others enough time to checkout before you. . . and once they check out. . . it's theirs. Plus if one of the items in your cart sells it will screw up your checkout of other items, slowing you down even more.

Don't forget to check out the after sale, there are usually some good leftovers.

Yoy didnt specify which sale but with most, you want to buy shipping module up front and pay for each coral before someone else does BUT remember to uncheck box for each coral if youre asked to add shipping

This. Probably the upcoming WWC sale. Have an account and pay for shipping up front otherwise you will miss the quick posts and somebody else will get it. After sale is a great place to feel less rushed and get decent prices. And lastly, just becuase you are able to put the coral in your cart and complete the purchase doesn’t mean you should… your wallet will thank you later and fomo has you buying things you normally would pass on.

Usually if you click into a sale post the 1st post will contain all the necessary info and links you will need, and

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!

If it is the WWC live sale they are very competitive. You need to click on the coral you want add it to your cart and immediately check out with that coral. It doesn't save your cart for you. Whoever finishes checkout first will get the coral.

Welcome! Glad you joined. Don't forget... there will always be another opportunity (Black Friday is coming). Like others have said above already, check the rules on the particular sale you are interested in buying items. Hobby is exciting, sales are exciting, but patience is the magic in this hobby.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:

Hello, and welcome to the channel. Which sale are you referring too? For some, you have to be a member, which is easy to do.

welcome. Here's the skinny:

1. Dont stock up your cart. If you see something, buy it individually and fast. If you wait for multiple items, your first items will already be sold.
2. Dont fall for FOMO.
3. If you are not looking for a specific piece, wait for the aftersale. Usually another 10-15% off. Less of a selection, but for a beginniner you can get some really nice pieces for great prices.
