First time dosing 2 part....

Wheres the best place to mount my dossier controller? I can make a small shelve to put it on. Im assuming it cant be on the ground or lower then the sump/solution container boxes?

I’m ready to dose.

This was my readings from last month. I did not add corals.

7/1 calc 435 alk 8.9

7/2 calc 460 alk 8.624

7/3. Calc 450 alk 8.512

7/6. Calc 450 Alk 8.12

7/7. Calc 440 Alk 8.12

What can I start with dosing amount? Is there a starting point that will just add a little here and I can test to see if it goes up and stays? I did the total gallons I have and it’s around 105g total volume

What product are you going to be dosing?

Am I doing this right? How do you know how much to add based on this calculation?

I want a 450 calc and a 10 Alk right?

I prefer lower numbers, but there are many ways to successfully run a tank. I like my alk at 8dkh and calcium at around 400ppm. But yes, if those are really the numbers you want, that is correct. I wouldn't raise alk all at once though, that would be a big jump. You should break that up among multiple days imo.

Thanks. If my alk stays around 9-8 and calcium around 400-450 do I even need to dose? I’m just worried I will over dose? I have been doing weekly 20% water changes so I guess that’s why my numbers are stable. I will be going down to every 2 weeks so I guess that will make a difference .

If you already have the dosers there is no reason to not use them. Set them at 9ml per day each and measure daily to see how things stabilize. I think keeping it at 8dkh is just fine but it won't hurt if it drifts up or down between 7 and 9.

Good point ;)

So I can do the calc and alk at 9ml per day? Should I break it up over the day or do a little in the morning and a little at night?

The 2 part came with mag. What do I do with that? Just add when needed?

I would split each one up into 2 doses. One later in the morning and another mid afternoon afternoon. Would also set the alk and calc at least 15 minutes apart so they mix without precipitating.

Will do. I should have it up and running by tomorrow. You should be hearing from me :)

Thanks for all the help
