So my calcium has dropped to 350 amd my magnesium to 1160. I like to keep my magnesium right around 1250-1300. I've never had to dose becasue I do frequent water changes. However since battling dinos it was recommended not to do water changes. That's why I've had the drop.
I need to dose. I have red sea foundations liquid calc and mag. The magnesium is 1ml per 25 gallons increases by 1ppm. I have a 53 gallon so I'm just going to sag 50. So 2ml would increase 1ppm. I need to get my magnesium up to at least 1200. For 40ppm. That would be 80ml right? How quickly and all at once can I add that or do I need to do in increments per day?

You can add the magnesium all at once withouit issue. As for calcium, same thing. Alk is the main thing to not add rapidly, as many alk supplements raise pH.

Thank you. That is actually where I confirmed my calculations :) thank goodness for apps like those!
With calcium I adjust slowly. I do not dose magnesium just pour it in once every 3-6 months. Alkalinity slowly adjust. For my nano it’s 1-2 ml to increase it. Just do things slowly is my words of advice if you do a large change turn off that doser if it is too high until it is back in range and cute the dose in half until you get it where you need it. :)
