This will be the first time I dose my tank kalkwasser. I recently bought a jeboa 2.4 against my better judgment. Read some nightmare reviews of nuked tanks and read some great reviews. Was gonna spend a bit more but I found the same reviews on the expensive stuff too.

My failsafe will be I dose right before my timer shuts the doser off for the day. Dunno if this is a good idea but we'll see.

Now my main question is how much kalkwassrr do I dose. Could not find a definitive answer on the interwebs. All I found was that 1 gallon will raise my dKH to 9 from what I'm currently at which is 7.9.

Obviously I won't dump a whole gallon in my tank. Im soo paranoid of nuking my tank. So for now I have a 1500 ml container and I'm only dosing 100ml a day right now.

Can anyone suggest how much I should dose. Take mind I only have 4 small frags. I have been hesitant to buy anymore until my parameters stabilize. I do have quite a bit of expensive fish that I'm scared to kill.

My current setup
90 Gallon w/ 25g sump
Bubble Magnus curve 5 skimmer

My previous perimeters and picture of my dosing set up.

My vote is to go quite slowly and test alkalinity quite frequently. You can't undo an overdose easily, especially if you accidentally "way" over dose. Never more than one dkh per 24h...but better to go even slower.

I agree with above. I would test alkalinity every day at the same time of the day for a week or so then adjust up or down as needed. I would target an alkalinity of about 8 dKH.

Your nitrates and phosphates are very low or zero. If you are doing something to reduce them, I would stop. Am worried about Dino’s if your tank is new.

Good luck!
