So this is my first saltwater experience. I started this tank back in September of 2017. I opted to convert my 56 gallon freshwater marineland column tank into a marine paradise [emoji12] I am just looking for tips and pointers as I kind of know what I'm doing but I am definitely no expert by any means. Current specs on the tank are as follows:

56 gallon marineland column tank
Sunsun HW-304B canister filter
200 watt marineland heater
Coralife 65 super skimmer
Aqueon 500 circulation pump (with another in the mail)
Coralife HO dual T5s with 10000k and Actinic blue(I think its 62 watts total, but I got it for dirt cheap at 45 bucks)
2 Marineland 18-24" reef capable leds (given to me by a friend)

I have a few other odds and ends, like a digital temperature readout, but I don't classify that as necessary. I definitely think I am lacking in the lighting department. My tank parameters have always been pretty good.

Salinity-1.025
Ammonia- 0ppm
PH- 8-8.1
DKH- 10
Calcium- 420ppm
Magnesium- not sure
Phosphate- .02ppm
Nitrate- 0.2ppm

I've never lost a fish, though no did lose a frogspawn to one of my shrimp and then everyone decided it was dinner time lol. Live stock and corals are as follows

About 57 pounds of live rock
40 pounds of live sand/crushed coral

Fish
Coral beauty dwarf angel
Blue and yellow damsel
Sleeper gold head goby

Inverts
2 astrea snails
3 mexican turbo
3 nessarius snails
1 bristleworm that hitchhiked
1 peppermint shrimp
1 scarlet hermit
1 blue leg hermit

Coral
1 Branching hammer with 5 or six heads(splitting like crazy lately)
1 green trumpet
1 Christmas favia frag
2 green mushrooms
4 small zoas (not sure on type)
5 or 6 green pallys
2 frags of xenia
1 lobophyllia in poor shape( I took it from another reefer who didn't want it)
1 green monty piece that I'm not sure is alive or dead lol(came with the live rock)

So what do you guys think? Anything I am missing? Maybe doing wrong? Questions? Comments? Please feel free! Thanks fellow reefers!

Like your setup :) Any plans on doing a sump or anything? What are your future plans for your tank? :)
Thank you! I did think about doing a sump, but I opted to go the canister route as I did not have experience drilling glass and I am terrified of a HOB overflow lol! When I decide to upgrade, I think I am going to go the sump route with a RR pre drilled tank. I was thinking 125 gallons sometime in the future. As far as anything else for this tank, I guess time will tell. I definitely feel like I am lacking in the lighting department, but that could just be me being OCD looking at 3 different light bars on the top of my tank haha [emoji12]

Welcome to Reef 2 Reef !
Your tank looks great ! Seems to becoming a nice little reef. When you upgrade, and you will, go as big as you can!
Thank you! That was my thought too! I am currently renting so the 56 is here to stay, but we are looking at houses, and I told my wife i have to have a dedicated tank space. I am currently thinking about 125 gallons when that happens, but by then who knows what I will want...maybe 300!
