So I picked up some plumbing bits from my LFS today and am beginning to map out the plumbing for the drain and return. I am going to use flexible tube for my two 1-1/2” drains as well as my three 3/4” returns but I am building a manifold to feed my returns as well as run my reactor and future UV sterilizer with out of 1-1/2 pvc I have plans to modify my bubble magus curve 5 into a Ozone reactor and running ozone in conjunction with carbon/gfo. I need to pick up an h-series spectral controller for my two h380 refuge lights and then set up my RODI with my two 44 gallon rubber maids and I will be set to start filling this guy up and start cycling it!

Page is already 5 pages deep but I see it’s only a couple weeks old. Crazy? No. Not at all. Problems will take longer to appear and bigger water volume generally means more stability and fewer short term issues like salinity and parameter swings. But big tanks mean big problems when they arise. Pests infesting a 200+ gallon tank require a different approach than a nano. But you’re all in and if you’re ready for the work you’ll love it. Welp been working on filling this beast up for the past two days! Decided at the last minute to go with a sand bed and utilized Fiji Pink to satisfy the little ladies in my life desires to have a sand sifting goby later!

Get a masonry drill bit and some fiberglass rods to make overhangs and caves with ur aquascape..

Just posted a few pics of the plumbing and where we are at for now my 6 stage RO/DI system is putting out about 15g an hour so we have almost topped off the display I already filled the overflow to check for leaks and ran a few gallons down to the sump so far everything looks good just gotta take our time my wife is tiny I mean 4ft 9in tiny and maybe 130lbs me I am 6 ft and 330 lbs so we can only lift 20-30g at a time to fill the tank just happy I am not filling 5g buckets!

I cut and chiseled the Pukani to have a couple of caves and over hangs as well had the owner of my LFS take a look at it and he liked it especially because this will be an SPS dominant tank he felt like the grow out capabilities of it are pretty nice.

Just imagine your rocks are full of coral, and try to avoid spots that could cause shadowing.
