Hi all!
I wanted to properly introduce myself before I start posting on the forums
I have been keeping freshwater fish, and 2 Axolotl's for a couple of years but always shied away from saltwater tanks. I just remember when I kept fish as a teenager that the saltwater business seemed really confusing with all these measurements and expensive equipment. Well, Im a little older now and actually enjoy nerding around. So the family took the plunge and bought a Fluval flex 123l saltwater tank.
switched the stock pump for a sicce syncra sdc3 and have got intank filtration baskets on the way. Jebao slw20 as a single powerhead, although i havent set it up yet.
the tank just finished a 21 day cycle today (fishless, wet live rock and added bacteria, decaying shrimp as an ammonia source)
So, the new inhabitants bought from the LFS today are:
2 clownfish
1 file fish
2 trochus snails
2 hermit crabs
Now we await the ugly phase, then we are super excited to add some softies and lps
