I set this tank up about 14 months ago with the aim of proving SPS could be grown on a budget...

About 2 months ago I added my first 'test' SPS, a green digi. Frag came free from a friend and grew well with good PE. It's still growing and PE is good still but it's grown into these weird shapes, big lumps on the growing tips...

Is this normal? I've added more flow and if I think about it, this odd growth did start at that time so could it just be a reaction to that?

Any pointers appreciated!!

Apologies for the poor pics but it's from my S7 on full zoom!

As long as you don't see any tissue necrosis, I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe the change in flow is causing an increase in calcification on the tips. I bet the branches will also thicken over time.

Thanks all... worried about nothing I guess, just wanna make sure this guy is ok before I add more SPS.
