Hi, I recently setup my first saltwater tank. I've been pretty cautious, done all the quarantine and live rock curing. I also have to quarantine tank setup right now for any incoming corals or fish. Since I plan to quarantine corals for a month or so I am looking to start buying them now. This is going to be a low to low / moderate light tank and is 36 gallon bow front with a 4 and 1/2 gallon aquafuge refugium which will have some macroalgae soon.

My current absolute must-have list of corals is:
neon green nepthea
Japanese pink nepthea
One or possibly two hammers

I was also looking to fill in space with some combination of chalice corals, acan Lords, leptastrea, zoas, favia or duncan.

I am being very realistic as this is a somewhat small tank and I don't want you pack too many Corals in a small space. I'm including some pictures to show you my tank, I've done the best I could to make it a steady slope down to allow for some decent Coral placement. I'm just posting here to ask if anyone has any suggestions where on the Rock I should place what type of coral and if any aggression issues with pop up between these corals. From what I read the hammer corals are prone to stinging others so I was looking to put them on the left Rockpile possibly by themselves. Any suggestions for other placement?

IMO it’s hard to give an exact place to put coral because we don’t know your lighting and flow.

Of course, sorry about that. As far as flow goes I believe I have something about a 12 x turnover rate. Facing the front of the tank I have a hydor 565 and on the opposite side of the tank facing the back I have a hydor 425. As far as lighting goes I currently have just one Fluval Marine 3.0 LED. By the time the corals come out of quarantine I will have another. I know that these are not the most popular LEDs but my wife was very much against anything hanging or with a gooseneck so I got a tank mounted one instead. I've included the par distribution from the box of the LED. I know this is low par but I do intend to have 2 and I'm not expecting to keep anything that takes more than moderate light at the most. Including the sandbed it is almost exactly 19 in from the light to sand. And I will have 2 of these by that time

I know it's not perfect to measure from just seeing the pictures but the top of the larger Rockpile is about 6 in from the light source and the top of the second Rockpile is about 12 in from the lights

Every coral has different light and flow recommendations. I’m just learning them one coral at a time
