AlrightNo need to take water out
Welcome bud, id wait untill the temperature reaches your desired range then test. You also have top your tank off with fresh water daily/weekly as the water evaporates and eveything else doesntQuestion I do have is that my salinity is around 1.019. Will it start to rise as the water settles air heat settles out?
Thanks budWelcome bud, id wait untill the temperature reaches your desired range then test. You also have top your tank off with fresh water daily/weekly as the water evaporates and eveything else doesnt
Thanks for the help!Add a small amount of salt, slowly, to the tank, let it mix, and test again. Repeat until you reach the desired salinity. No need to remove water.
Moving forward, you will notice your water level dropping due to natural evaporation. You will need to replace that evaporated water with fresh water, preferably RODI water. Do not top off with more salt water.
When water evaporates, which is does in every tank, the water evaporates but the salt does not. That is why you need to top off with fresh water, and it should be done regularly. You can look at ATO's (automatic top off) to help automate this.
When you eventually do a water change, you will replace the water you remove with new freshly made (or purchased) salt water.
