Sooo, I finally got a macro lens!!! So excited, its been a long time coming lol. Took it for a first day test drive...some pics not so great on technical quality but I still liked them. Will have better pics after a little practice :)

Both my reef and macro tanks currently have t5 lighting.

Nice photos! What lens did you get?
I got the Canon 100mm f2.8L
 
Those are very good! What camera body? Did you have to do any special white balance stuff or these on auto?
Did you shoot thru the tank glass? Use a tripod or by hand?

I use the Canon 5d mkII.

Most definitely not auto white balance, most camera's auto will only go up to 8000K on its own, using the K white balance setting will go up to 10,000K, much closer to the spectrum of our lights. A few quick color tweaks in photoshop finished the job.

Most of these shots were through the glass, but 4 of the macroalgae shots were using a top-down view acrylic cylinder I built.

All shots were handheld.
