My tank just completed its cycle and my LFS is recommending a 20% water change on my 32.5 gallon tank (26 gallons of water volume), and then repeating that weekly. With my previous tank I always went with 10% weekly. What say you fellow reefers?

10 to 20% is standard

Each tank is different and the elements you are replacing may only need a %10 change to refill them.

I'd do a 20% for the 1st one and then figure out where you want your numbers and see what a %10 and %20 change does to figure out what works best for you.

A %10 change in 26g of water may be more than enough ;)

If it helps we do around a 25g weekly on a 220.

I’d say that advice is fine.
The good bacteria is stuck to the hard surfaces anyways.
After cycle, I did 50% to get nitrates down a bit.
