What did you use as an ammonia source to start your cycle?

Do you have a source of ammonia you're introducing to the tank? Are you ghost feeding or anything?

I had the same response when cycling my tank. Only saw elevated level of
Nitrite and small increase in ammonia after using bio spira. I played it safe and ghost feed every week and waited 4 weeks to add a fish. The bacteria in a bottle works but I wouldn't trust it enough to add fish right away

I added half a cube of frozen mysis and a bottle of bio spira
That is a tiny amount of food to start a cycle unless you have a nano aquarium. Try to envision how much food the fish in your fully stocked aquarium would need to consume in a day and add 3 days worth. That should give you a good starting point. Since you added Biospira, the first indication you have that your tank is cycling well is nitrate starting to show up.

It’s not done rotting yet.
Most who do shrimp and other foods just wait about a month.

Many who don’t trust the process will but pure ammonia and add it and see how fast it is used up to insure it is cycling.
You can also just use the pure Ammonia to start the cycle. You don’t actually need the bottled bacteria as the bacteria will form naturally. Like when using shrimp or food.

I always look to see if they're using live rock or dry rock as well
