So husband's birthday is coming up. He likes quirky personality fish (we have hawks, jaw fish, goby). He really likes fish that tend to interact with owners.
Tank: Peaceful community 300 gal reef tank. LPS dominant corals.

Can you give input on one of these options? Or another suggestion?

1) Mimic Saddle Puffer (a filefish) (Paraluterus prionurus) OR
the Valentini puffer it mimics in a reef tank...
-Which picks less @ LPS & soft corals?
-Does either pester other fish (nip fins etc.)?
-I've heard the Mimic (Paraluterus prionurus) is often reluctant to feed, once in the display tank (if is housed with more active fish (like tangs or anthias).

2) Molly Miller Blenny
He likes the look & personality of these.
Do they hang out more on rocks or sandbed?
Are they aggressive towards bottom dwellers?

My jawfish, YWG & mandarin are favorites in the tank.
I don't want anything that would pester these.

Ime the valentini is far easier than a mimic. I had a mimic that wouldnt feed and the lfs had a few before that did the same, whereas you'd be very unlucky not to get a tobie that didn't.
My valantini was reef safe with corals and never nipped at anything including cuc but shrimp, crabs etc are a risk with it. A friend had a mimic and it ate alot of their corals and cuc.

Molly Millers are great and the only issue I had with mine was it nipped my clam mantle, so I got rid of the clam. I had a yellow watchman and mandarin with it and it didn't even look at them. It spent most time on the rockwork but was all over really.

I think a molly Miller and valantini would both make great character introductions.

I haven't had an issue with mimic files eating.

Any of the fish on the list would fit what your looking for.
