What should I do to fish after quarantine before placing in main display? How can I clean them to prevent copper from entering main display?

Ideally you would have removed the copper from your QT after 30 days of treatment with another week or two of observation (at a minimum) so there wont be any copper on the fish when moved to the display. No cleaning necessary :)

Thanks! That helped. Couldn't find this anywhere on the net for some reason.

You should move them into a different tank for observation prior to removing copper from the system they are in. Remember copper won't kill ich if it's encysted and if you remove the copper those could hatch and infect fish if you leave fish in the same tank.

Yes. good point!

so now you need two qt's? if that's the case why do copper at all? tt would be much safer. I would like to hear from those who use copper, if they use one qt or two. I qt all my fish but never used copper. don't have any tangs and just used prazi and observation. never had ich.

It's ideal to switch them to a different QT after copper is over. I have used just the one with copper and all my fish at once. It turned out great. The risk is if you have a strain that takes longer than the 30 days to "hatch" out of their cyst. The copper wont kill them while on the fish or in the cyst so if they break free after the copper treatment is over they can reattach to the fish. That's why TTM is safer and why using second QT after treatment is over is also safer if using copper. Like I said.... it's a risk, but I've done it without just fine. You really have to just know the risks, what's going to happen/ what could happen and keep a watch out for those things. Make an informed decision based on the info you have and go with it.

Correct. It's hard to treat something if your not totally aware of all the aspects of it.

According to studies that humblefish posts up quite a bit, most of the time ich that has encysted will break open well prior to 30 days. But there is a chance that you could have one that out last your copper treatment. There's a better chance though that it won't. So most people would be fine most of the time if they stopped copper after 30 days and left fish in. It's about what risk your willing to accept. I say of your doing all this work why take risk.

That could be a good reason for so many claiming cupramine failed them. Who knows. No one really.

Hi I have four cromis fish in my QT tank day 2. They are eating well and this is my first fish in my QT tank. I have cupramine and paragurd and prime and I can not import prazipro.I want to know the what is the steps to follow QT and how to medicate them. My QT is 10 gallons
