Any hints for ending fish aggression against new additions? Know about order of adding but had a big wipe-out due to skimmer malfunction while on vacation. Murphy's law? Now trying to replace some of my favorite fish that were lost. Coral Beauty seems to want aquarium mostly to himself. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year!

Tank size? What are your current and planned inhabitants?

Have a big enough tank to limit aggression, avoid same species, limit aggressive fish, feed plenty and provide lots of water flow, get fish that hang out in different areas of the tank (swimmer, perchers, grazers)

Most of the time it will stop within a week or so, as long as the fish being harassed is strong it will be fine. If you have minimal rocks in the tank it could go on till the harrased fish dies, but if you have lots of rocks creating many caves and such it will subside and everyone will be fine.

73 gallon Red Sea Reefer 350. I added a Hawk fish that has been chased and now hides in coral. Want to add a dragonette and two clowns like I had before.

What do you wish to add?

That gives me hope. Thanks

I had nearly the exact same thing happen to me! The coral beauty ran the show and I ended up having to get rid of him. He killed multiple new additions with no end in sight. Sorry, but I would say re-home him.
