My saltwater fish (2 clowns, 1 blue chromie, 1 cardinal) are ALWAYS hungry.
I feed them 1 cube of mysis shrimp a day.

they have such a stronger appetite than my freshwater fish ever did.

is this normal?

Yes, you have to remember in the wild they ate when they could because they never knew when they would actually eat. They are opportunistic by nature which is why its very easy to over feed them as they will keep eating. I look at the health of the fish, if they look good then you are fine with the amount.

@Madonia I totally understand your concern. I probably feed too frequently – at least twice a day. But I try to keep the amount I feed fairly low. But to what @Billldg said, fish are opportunistic eaters. If there’s food they’ll eat. So the always seem to be hungry.
