Fish are Literally Disappearing

Pistol shrimp may be concussing them and the CUC and serpent star eating their remains

Where'd you get your rock from?
My son's friend had a tank one time, a 200DD. After a little while, fish started to disappear. All ki ds, all sizes. We were pretty sure there was some sort of worm that came in with the rock, but never did find it.
The rock came from an LFS. It's been in the tank for months.

After some more discussions with my LFS, I believe something in the water parameters caused them to die and the CUC took care of them. I don't believe the brittle star was the culprit - at least not the murderer.

Oh, well. Part of the process.

I have had a biocube for about 5 years now and my fish disappear consistently. I have never found one even when I know it was there earlier in the day but isn't later in the day. I have looked up in the hood, the back in all 3 compartments, in the sand, under the rocks and have even torn my tank apart looking and its like they just vanished! It drives me crazy and I wish I knew where they were disappearing to. I only have 1 cleaner shrimp and 2 very small blue hermit crabs in there so I know it is not them that are eating the fish that fast. I am down to one fish and I am not putting any more into this tank until I find out what is happening to them.

If anyone else has heard of this before and knows why this is happening please share!

It seems really doubtful to me that your CUC could fully eat all those fish that fast. And even if they did, you would find things like bones from the larger fish like the tangs.
There has to be something else in the tank grabbing them

Might want to observe your tank when the lights in both the tank and room are out. Using a flashlight with some red plastic over the lens check out the rock work.

If the blenny was small as well I would suspect parameters are your culprit. Imo if it were something like a mantis shrimp your CuC would be disappearing too.
