Fish Attempting To Escape

I have a damsel getting acclimated now, and every minute or so he'll ram the side of the plastic container..anyone else ever had this happen?

mine fish always did it and then the shrimp usually comes up to the other side of the bag.. well not ram so much as swim against it ha damsels are evil little fish though

Yea they are, but it wasn't that hard to catch, especially when he thought he could hide behind the pump on the bak-pak skimmer.

Sheesh folks, not all damsels are evil, there are some FANTASTIC reef fish out there that happen to be damsels. It only takes a little bit of time to do some research BEFORE bringing home that potential-monster of a domino or jewel damsel.

Just a couple of the awesome ones:
Chromis retrofasciata
Chrysiptera hemicyanea
Chrysiptera galba
Chrysiptera parasema
Chrysiptera springeri

I don't know how liveaquaria decided they get 3-4" but with the exception of the canary damsel, they max out at more like 2", they're just agressive enough to stick up to larger fish in the tank, they're colorful and almost bulletproof. And cheap!

I really like the canary damsel and the chromis, but the yellowtail damsel and the azures are one of the ones we usually talk about as mean. With the blue devil damsel being the worst of them all.

ha have fun with any of those blue ones, they are all monster NEVEr would i put one in my tank

My LFS had about 50 of those yellow tails in a fairly sizeable tank. They destroyed eachother in about a month.

Not all blue damsels are mean. Unless you've got an especiallllly calm tank, the yellow-belly damsels are perfectly fine reef fish.
