So my fish currently in QT are about to finish up their final round of meds and the DT finished cycling last week. I haven't got a chance to order my CUC and was wondering if the CUC before fish is really necessary or if its okay to move the fish then add the CUC 1-2 weeks later.

The cuc should really be there just to assist you in controlling algae and uneaten food. I've had tanks without any cuc so it's no big deal. It's best to add only a few of whatever based on the type of clean up you need. Not enough food for your cuc equals dead snails which add to other issues and aggressive or picking on corals hermits. The common recommendations I see are about 4 times what you really need.
