Ok all, so after this past disease that took 4 of my fish I'm looking into a few new options of fish to stock my tank with AFTER the tank inhabitants are 100% healthy and I have a QT setup.

I would like to get a group/shoal/school of fish. I am thinking around 5-8 of one of these 2 fish and I would like everyone's opinion both positive and negative of why/why not to get one over the other. I'm personally leaning towards the Chromis as I've never seen them and I think it would be cool to have something that nobody else has had or seen before.

What are your thoughts???

Guess I missed the illness/loss of your fish. :-(
Like this post, as it brought fish to my attention I wasn't aware of.
Don't have an opinion on either except the Cardinal runs almost half the cost of the Chromis.

Thought this pic was awesome.

I had a pair of the orange lined cardinals. Very pretty, and the mellow swimming behavior compared to the mess of anthias was a nice change. I never kept more than two though, because from what I read, most cardinals won't stay in a happy group for long (except bluespine, red tails, etc).

That's a sweet picture Air! I'm leaning towards the Chromis as they seem to do better as a group in the long run. Keep em coming people! I appreciate it.

It would definitely be cool to get a different type of chromis other than the blue/green. But I would try to research on those specifically and make sure they arent like blue damsels as far as behavior.

Good eye on spotting whatever that is near the tail of the fish. Good call Chris. That's why I put this post up!

Yeah, they mentioned the parasite.
Still an awesome pic to my eyes.

I personally would steer away from the agile's there temperment says semi aggressive and id hate for them to gang up on your other fish or each other.

The cardinals are super peacefull from what iv'e seen heard about them.

If they are like most chromis they won't bother anything except each other. Usually they will be fine when they are small but as they get bigger they will bully each other until you end up with one chromis.

Thanks again for the input! Still a lot of research is needed until I decide what to do.

I need to update my thread page. I'll do that here shortly. Thanks for the heads up about the aptasia. That bad boy got scraped off when I was dipping the other corals!

Ok, so I've decided to not get either of these for a group as my fiance' really likes the Zebra/Branded Dartfish now that she saw some in person. Look forward to part 2 coming soon!
