Fish Choices - Need Opinions - Part 2

So the girls want to have some more purple in the tank to go along with the 6 Line Wrasse and the Purple Firefish. Here are the 3 choices that I've shown them and one likes the orchid dottyback and one like the Black Cap Basslet. What are your thoughts and experiences?

I have a tank bred Orchid Dottyback from LA that I really like. The color is intense and beautiful. Your six line wrasse may hassle it a little. But, mine is so fast that it can out run him easily.

That six line might pester any other small fish you buy.

I vote go with a tank bred dotty. Be nice for all us to go tank bred as much as we can and preserve our oceans a bit

Thanks all. I hope to get a tank bred one of whatever I do get. If the six line does harass any new fish I'll be sure to let everyone know but I added 2 firefish after the 6 line and they were fine.

The basslet will have the best disposition of the three but the six-line will hassle anything you add most likely. Having a 120 gallon will ease things a bit for you, however. Pseudos can be kinda nasty and may bother your firefish. Like humans, they all have their individual personalities, however, so you may get lucky or not so lucky. BTW, I've owned all the fish mentioned at one time but never together. Good luck!

I have no experience with any of those fish Ryan. But, you can only have one dottyback per tank, so theoretically you could get the black cap and one dotty.

Thanks CEE. Good info. Good point B, too bad there will only be one more purple colored fish added. Need some different colors in there.

I like the basslet the best, but are they not known to prey on small shrimp. I have a bass in my 20 but I wont put any sexy shrimp in their even though I want them BADLY! My order is Basslet, Orchid, and I will never own a psuedo, them things are just plain mean!
