Fish compatability

Hi everyone I'm knew to the salt water hobby. I have a 120 gallon tank I have a sargassum triggerfish
About 3-4 inches I have a imperator angelfish about 4 inches a purple tang about 3 inch and a 4 inch powder brown tang. My question is there any more fish I could add to this tank and keep all the fish peaceful as they are now. I was thinking maybe a 2-3 inch pink tail trigger or maybe a blue hippo tang or a gold rim tang are these bad ideas?

Those are pretty good size fish. I would be a little concerned about the triggers and tangs fighting as well as the tangs amongst themselves.

I think your tank could technically support the fish you want to add, but the more fish you add that size , the more fighting and territorial behavior increases and stress increases which leads to disease and /or death of the fish.

Perhaps some smaller fish?

You describe a lot of "Centerpiece"type fish that are mostly midwater swimmers. Maybe try something that lives in the sand. There are lots if interesting fish that are less high profile that you could maybe add.

Welcome to Reef2Reef. I'm not the tang police and I have a 120. I agree with the above on adding smaller fish. IMO you already have too many large fish for a 120.

Thanks for the input I was thinking that too when I looked up how big these fish can get. Thankfully I have a 300 gallon waiting to be revived a buddy gave me. Once I get the money to get the skimmer and sump and all else I need I will be able to transfer some over as they grow but I think I will not add anymore fish until that comes to progress. But what types of smaller fish could I add that wouldn't be a meal if I really felt the urge to add ?

I don't have a lot of experience with trigger fish , but that said, I think damsels and/ or chromis might look nice in a small school of 5 or so, they are small and aggressive enough to hold their own. Also things like gobies or wrasses may be good as they hide well when threatened. Just research the fish you like as some are picky eaters.
