So currently I am working on my 29 gallon nano reef tank and I was wondering about my fish choices. I plan on having a light bioload and having mostly corals. Currently I have two OC clowns in there (Bonnie and Clyde) and today I pulled ol Nemesis out of the QT. Neon Dottyback.. absolutely gorgeous fish. So the plan is to only have the two clowns and the neon doty in the tank. Along with the CUC of course. I was just wondering if you guy have any experience with clowns and dottybacks? I have researched it and it says they are compatible but I wanted some real world thoughts on it. If I see any kind of trouble in there he will come out and go into the FOWLR with the bigger fish. So.... thoughts?

You'll probably be fine, but in a tank that size that neon dottyback is likely to kill anything and everything you add from here out.

Clowns are quite aggressive in their own right, so they're probably safe-- especially since they were residents first -- but it's possible the neon bully's them, especially the male.

Keep a close eye!

Yeah, I waited to put it in last hoping for them to be settled in before I introduced him. I don't plan on putting anything else in the tank as far as fish go. Not a whole lot of space in there for a lot of clashing personalities. I hoping that since the clowns have paired up then maybe they look out for one another a bit. Thanks for the response, the doty is definitely under a close eye for the next few days. I was actually torn between the Neon dottyback and a sixline wrasse. Just nudged it out because he was more oran5the the sixline... lol
