I posted the same problem about a week ago after losing one chromis after adding him to my tank with proper acclimation. I came to the conclusion that it was stress related after the help I received here on the forum. For the second time I have added green chromis to my tank only to have them die within 24 hours.
I am at a loss as to what is happening or what I am doing wrong. I am drip acclimating them in a bucket with a heater added, for a couple of hours until the salinity and temperature match. I added them yesterday and they were eating. This morning they were dead.
I feel bad as this was never my intention to hurt or kill my new fish. My tank is about 5 - 6 weeks old and has completed its initial cycle and did a thirty percent water change. I have snails and a Zoa frag in there and they are doing fine.
50 gal. (36x18x18) with live rock, with sump, protein skimmer, uv sterilizer, phosban reactor. and filter media with activated carbon. I do use RO water when mixing salt and fresh RO water when topping off.
Now, I bought this from craigslist...he also lost fish. Is it possible that the live rock is contaminated and leaching poisons into the water? Is there a way to test for poisons in the water, besides copper?
I am just trying to think of any thing I could be missing, so I am coming to the ones with experience and knowledge.
But then I thought snails were more sensitive. Not sure what to do at this point.
I have done research and spent a lot of time ensuring or maybe just thinking that my tank was ready.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Salinity 1.025
Ammonia 0 ppm API
Nitrite 0 ppm API
Nitrate 25 ppm Salifer test
Phosphate 25 ppm API
Temperature 76 degrees
