I had a lovely purple tang in QT and i was nearing the end I finished copper and started on deworming/fluke towards the end of the copper he took a turn for the worst had a pinched stomach and was just spending most of his time lying on the bottom sideways only swimming for 10 minutes every so often before he ran out of energy and sunk to the bottom again i know he had flukes before i did 2 FW dips over the 30day copper so was eager to get the fluke meds in i think it was flukes that killed him but cant be too sure as i know the QT process wasn't stressless it was my first QT and i left it too long so check at times was just weird how he seemed to pickup slowly then when i added the fluke meds bang gone same night or was it the pinched stomach that ended him because pack of energy? Personally think its a mixture of everything that just took its tole but it would be good to pinpoint something

Here was my parameter after the WC to remove copper:

NH3 -0
No2 - 0
N03 - 50
Salinity - 1.025
79F
Ph- 7.2

I even tested O2 in the water to see if was a lack pf oxygen even though a air-stone is run 24/7 o2 - 8

Thus was all teat on the 9/8/23 (day/month/year)

Was 0 copper in the system or untraceable to a salifert anyway when i added NT labs fluke/dewormer to the water

Just curious, what did you use to monitor copper levels during treatment?
I ask because I have 3 copper test kits: API, Hanna, and Salifert … just info but all 3 gave different readings…
and copper levels are critical….
anyway, lack of fat reserves gets my nod and/or whatever base cause was behind the lack of appetite (was it feeding good?)
Edit add: Summon anyone of the fish medics around here, see what they say … also the disease forum might get a better set of eyes …

also this is a basic QT setup only has pump , airatone (24/7) , heater then just run a sponge and filter floss in the built in sump at back with Bio media
