I just got home and I was feeding the tank and I noticed something. It was my six line dead. What could have it been. I have a flame angel and 2 clowns. Could it have been the hermit crabs? I have a hammer in the tank as well.

There is a very serious loss of tissue or bacterial issue shown and may have stemmed from either injury or bite from another fish. What other tank mates do you have in tank?

A flame angel and 2 clown fish and a Cora banded shrimp.

If the fish was indeed bitten, the clowns are my suspect. Are they capable of doing this type of damage- Yes

Clowns are hosting a hammer or something ? if yes, they are exceptionally territorial and probably caused this issue. I have 1 which hosts a anemone and if i even try to put my hand in water he comes and bites me - and its not a small "i warn you" but more like "i will kill you" bite - so much so my 4" clown was sumped for 6 months but issue hasn't stopped nor it will.

They always stay in a corner of the tank unless it’s time to eat. Does this mean I could add more fish? Or should I wait?
Best to do is observe those clowns who in your presence will be on their best behavior. If you add another fish, set your cell phone on video mode for about 30 mins and drop a little food and walk away - YOU MUST walk away as they know youre there. Often the aggressor is a bully at feeding time.
Review the video and see what they are up to. Hopefully nothing

Both look like occys (just a black and orange one).
Angel could also do damage, so I wouldn’t rule it out either. Either way, the fish is likely the victim of aggression so I would monitor the remaining fish to see how they behave.

Could your clean up crew have possibly chewed on it after it died? In my tanks I watched a large nassarius snail pull a 3" anthias under the sand.

The reason I say that is I have a six line in my big tank and it's outsized by everything by alot and it's always on the move. Never stops always prowling the rocks. For something to attack it they would have to catch it first. Could have just died on its own and then got chewed on.

It is a possibility. I didn’t notice the fish till I got home from work. All the other fish are doing good.
