Fish just started dieing water checks perfect. All my fish started to die and i think on 2 are going to make it but my star and Bristol star are fine lobsters are fine what will cause a tank to do this. I did have some sand star to turn black and had a bunch of spaghetti worms come to the top of the sand and 10 hrs or so later fish started to die. Whats wrong i cant find anything online.

Hi Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Below my name here is a clickable link to a file that gives additional information that we need to try and diagnose your fish's issues. Take a look at that, and then if you want, post your answers on the fish disease forum here and we'll try to help you out!

Thanks,

Jay

Sorry to here that this is happening.. I would remove any remnants of the dead starfish and do a 50% water change.. perhaps add some carbon to remove any toxins that may be in your water. Good luck

I’d do a good water change, increase oxygen with as simple as an air stone and pump, run carbon.
What are your number when you say water checks out perfect?
mare you using an API test kit?
mare you using tap water from the faucet or RODI water ?

My star fish are doing great. Salt i keep about 22 iron is good i did have a spike in nitrites but only a .4 over mid range so i did a 30% water change. I did find out my live sand has a worm infestation and are dieing so im thinking that may be the problem i really dont know. Yes i use tap water but take all precautions im going to try and add more charcoal and see if that works. 13 dead 3 living fish. Both star fish doing good and lobster and pampam crab doing great and blen doing good. Live rock and sand started turning black. I run a 75gl tank.
