What you should do, is either a freshwater ro/di dip or hypo-salinity dip, and then keep them in quarantine for a couple weeks before adding them to your tank. Because even with a dip, parasites can either be resistant or you could not get them all off the fish, and then it gets introduced to your tank where it has a whole bunch of hosts to latch onto and reproduce.

Quarantine isn't really a luxury any tank will do you can get a cheap all-in-one kit from PetSmart or Petco for anywhere from 25 to 50 bucks and they will work perfectly for a quarantine. it's something I would highly recommend looking into. however instructions on your freshwater dip can be found here

Unfortunately fresh water dip will not do much to eradicate most parasites including ich, velvet, brook, uronema or flukes. You "might" knock some off but not all and what remains will multiply in your tank exponentially in a short period of time. not doing qt is like playing Russian Rullet. That's just my opinion.

A quarantine tank can literally be a bare tank with salt water in it with a hang on back filter running for mechanical filtration and a heater. maybe get some PVC fittings elbows just for something for the fish to hide in but it's literally just an empty tank filled with salt water that you can put your copper treatment or your antibacterial and antifungal treatment all that stuff in instead of dosing it in your display tank ( which is extremely.bad for your corals and inverts). The best way to get one started is to get the tank setup and then on water change day take water out of your tank and put it in the quarantine tank and then fill up the rest with fresh saltwater

All good advice given here. A freshwater dip will not do much to keep a fish from bringing disease in the tank. A QT is the best way to go for that. The link provided is an excellent, in-depth article on exactly what you need for a QT.

+++1 on QT. Do not delay. Take a quick look through this forum for the last few days. You’ll see how wide spread the problem is. You will potentially spare yourself (& fish) a lot of heartache. You have a lot of experienced folks here to help you through the process.
I use ice attack herbal formal on new fish I’m introducing to a fishless tank and do 1hr dips.
it has been effective for healthy fish.
I have been very unsuccessful with formalin products. Cupramine is good for quarantine. I Have 75% success with seachem paraguard. Paraguard is not good for sensitive fish and will kill inverts so will cupramine.
Ruby reef is safe with corals and inverts but is not as strong. Current options are ruby reef and herbal ich attack by kordon. Quarantine is always best if you already have fish in the system
